Strategies and campaigns of European youth policy for diversity and tolerance – strategies of the EU and the Council of Europe.
Through the European YOUTH Programme, the European Union has been supporting out-of-school international youth education since 2000. One of the objectives connected to the promotion of intercultural learning is to intensify the awareness for tolerance and solidarity as a means of preventing racism and xenophobia. The EU ministerial conference of October 2004 declared 2005 the year of the “Fight against racismâ€, thus underlining the efforts of the EU to develop a strategy of out-of-school youth education.
