Meeting of the National Authorities on the "Committee of the YOUTH Programme"

On 16 November 2005 the representatives of the National Authorities from 31 countries met for the meeting of the "Committee of the YOUTH Programme" in Brussels. The Programme Committee is assisting the European Commission in the management of the programme, especially adopting arrangements for the implementation of the Programme and the annual work plan.

The German Federal Ministry for Familiy Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth and the European Commission informed the committee about the Berlin-conference "Youth in Action for Diversity and Tolerance" and its results. The committee members got the written information, which was distributed at the meeting of the Ministers, as well as a copy of the Declaration and the Action Plan.

The promotion of diversity and the fight against discrimination will be one of the priorities of European Commission and National Agencies in the implementation of the YOUTH Programme in 2006.
